Purpose
Across Chevron's enterprise Juniper network, checking every device by hand couldn't keep pace, so trouble only showed up once it had already hit operations. Waiting for degradation to surface meant outages the team could have caught early. They needed a consistent way to spot problems before they reached the business.
Description
We built automated health monitoring that reaches every device on a set schedule and reports back the indicators that matter most: processor load, memory, and interface status. Instead of an engineer logging into machines one at a time, the whole fleet is checked the same way, and anything trending toward failure is flagged early. Findings land in clear reports, so maintenance happens ahead of an outage rather than after one. The team gets a reliable, early read on device health without the manual grind.
Results
- Every device
health checks across the whole fleet, not just a sample
- On schedule
repeatable automated runs instead of ad-hoc checks
- Key vitals
CPU, memory, and interface health captured every run
- No manual logins
diagnostics that once meant logging into each device
