Purpose

Watering crops on a fixed schedule wastes water when the soil is already damp and starves plants when it isn't, and off-grid fields rarely have power to run automated equipment. The goal was a self-powered irrigation prototype that decides when to water based on what the soil and sunlight are actually doing, with no manual intervention and no mains electricity.

Description

We built a prototype that reads soil moisture, sunlight intensity, temperature, and humidity, then automatically runs the sprinkler whenever the ground gets too dry. A companion mobile dashboard shows live sensor readings and lets the user schedule watering runs from anywhere, while a solar panel and battery keep the whole unit running off-grid. Turning raw sensor data into a closed-loop, energy-independent system is the sort of embedded engineering we build and ship.
