Purpose
Small fishing boats routinely travel beyond cellular coverage, leaving families and authorities with no way to locate them. This tracker reports a motorbanca's position and condition over long-range LoRaWAN radio instead of the mobile network.
Description
An Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense reads GPS coordinates through TinyGPS++ alongside onboard temperature, humidity, pressure, and accelerometer data, computing a tilt angle that can flag a capsizing hull. The LMIC stack transmits each reading over LoRaWAN to The Things Network, where a custom JavaScript decoder forwards the fields to a ThingSpeak dashboard for live monitoring. A dedicated distress button with buzzer feedback lets the crew raise an alert in the next uplink.
