Purpose

A client had a working hardware prototype whose firmware had become unreliable, and they needed it dependable again without rebuilding it from scratch or leaning on a server to prop it up. The device had to run on its own, on the hardware they already owned.

Description

We took over two large firmware programs driving a device packed with peripherals — location and cellular modules, an environmental sensor, battery monitoring, and an on-device menu display — and diagnosed the faults directly on the client's hardware. We restored stable sensor readings, correct display behavior, and reliable communication between modules, all while keeping downtime to a minimum. Reading into unfamiliar embedded code and making it trustworthy again is exactly the kind of rescue work we take on.
