Purpose
A university team wanted a holiday installation that feels alive — where the surrounding light itself drives the show, nudging the music louder or softer and the lights brighter or dimmer as the room changes.
Description
We built a display that senses ambient light and maps it, in real time, to two things at once: how loud the music plays and how brightly the string lights glow. A companion phone app lets someone take over the volume by hand whenever they want to override the sensor. It is a small, playful demonstration of tying a physical sensor to real-world outputs and getting the response to feel instant.
