Purpose
Mapua University needed a faculty management station that combines RFID identification, GSM messaging, and presence sensing so faculty availability, announcements, and messages could be managed from one touchscreen device.
Description
A Raspberry Pi station with a touchscreen PyQt interface at its core. Faculty tap MFRC522 RFID cards to identify themselves, a PIR sensor detects presence to drive the display, and a GSM module handles SMS communication over a serial link. Firebase synchronizes announcements, messages, and status in real time with a companion Android app, giving both administrators and faculty a live view of who is in and what has been posted.
