Purpose

Managing faculty presence, announcements, and messages usually means juggling several disconnected tools. A university team wanted one touchscreen station that could identify faculty by card, sense when someone is present, send text messages, and keep everything in sync with a phone app.

Description

We built a touchscreen station where faculty tap a card to identify themselves, a motion sensor wakes the display when someone approaches, and a cellular module sends and receives text messages on its own. A cloud backend keeps announcements, messages, and status mirrored in real time with a companion mobile app, so administrators and faculty share one live view of who is in and what has been posted. Bringing card identification, presence sensing, messaging, and a mobile app together in one device is a genuinely involved integration we saw through.
