Purpose
Predicting how IS-IS routing will behave usually requires testing on live equipment. This simulator lets network engineers trace and analyze path selection in advance, reducing the risk of configuration changes on production networks.
Description
The tool simulates trace paths across IS-IS network topologies, showing how routers select routes under different configurations and scenarios. Engineers use it to visualize routing decisions, troubleshoot unexpected paths, and validate changes before they reach live networks. Built in Python, it gathers device data over SSH with Paramiko and runs within Azure Pipelines for repeatable execution against Juniper environments.
